Based in Plymouth and performing across the South West, The Breaks don’t just play sets, we deliver a high-velocity, stadium-grade experience. Since 2010, we’ve traded the predictable function vibe for a massive arsenal of Indie-Rock energy and modern Pop anthems. Whether you need the compact punch of our Power Duo or the full-throttle roar of our Classic Trio, we guarantee a main-stage performance.

We offer two distinct ways to experience The Breaks, both designed to keep the energy peaking and the floor moving.

The Power Duo (2-Piece)

Don’t let the size fool you. Using a bespoke Dual-Rig setup, our guitarist splits his signal to cover the full frequency of a bassist and guitarist simultaneously. This results in a massive, "wall of sound" experience that rivals a four-piece band. It's perfect for bars, high energy weddings, or venues with space constraints that still want a rock-concert atmosphere.

The Power Trio (3-Piece)

The classic power trio format. With a dedicated bassist, the band gains extra rhythmic depth and melodic freedom. This results in high-fidelity, multi-layered, and anthemic sounds. This is our premium main stage setup. It's perfect for a vide variety of genres for weddings & corporate events.

Do you have PA & Lighting?

Yes. We also offer production upgrades, including haze and moving lights, to really step up the atmosphere (upgrades from £80).

Can you play our first dance live?

It really depends on the song. but generally, yes.

Where are you based?

Plymouth

What time do you arrive? how long does it take to set up?

For private events, standard arrival is 6:00 PM with a 1-hour setup. For public dates, arrival is usually around 8:00 PM.

Yes

How long do you play for?

Public/Bar dates are typically 2x45 minutes. Private events and weddings are typically 2x60 minutes.

How many are in the band?

We offer two flexible options: the Power Duo or the Classic Trio.

How much space do you need?

We tend to suggest around the size of a small van is the minimum we need. ideally more like a medium size van dimension.

Do you need a stage?

It is a nice option, but not needed. we have access to a very good price for a stage, so please contact if you would like us to check availability.

Do we need to provide food?

Yes please.

Can you do a afternoon acoustic set?

Yes. We can do this as a solo, duo or trio.

How do we book? How do we pay?

The best way to book is via our contact form at the bottom of the page. We do receive Facebook messages, but they are harder to manage. For private events, we take £300 for deposit via BACS, with the remainder 14 days before the event also by BACS.
